Orphan Train by Uncle Earl
Traditional song based on a true story.
Taken from the 2002 (?) LP “She Went Upstairs”
Amanda Vasas sings lead vocals and harmonies with me.
I came across the “old-timey-before-it-was-cool” group; Uncle Earl via the original mp3.com. It was my first major experience listening to independent folk music. I was big into Pete Seeger at the time, but I think we interacted because I had done a search on mp3.com for groups near my hometown of Dearborn, MI. I swear it was before 2002 though! I thought it was 2001.
Anyway, Amanda and I love this album.

You guys sure make beautiful music together. What a great selection from a great group. I’ve played it twice to start my day. Think I’ll feature Uncle Earl on my ipod this morning. Thank you.
